Four Qualities Of A Potential Husband

For women who are in the dating scene, one question is very popular. That is, “what exactly constitutes a man who is marriage material?” Maybe you’re asking yourself that, too. Even if the question is far from your mind right now, chances are you will sometime in the future. To take the shortcut even if you’re not yet thinking of marriage anytime soon, let’s point out the endearing qualities of men that makes them a good husband. Of course, it’s also to answer the questions – and here are seven qualities of a potential hubby.
He is respectful. Among the top positive points for any guy would be showing respect. It is an essential ingredient for any lasting, flourishing relationship. A guy who respects himself doesn’t downplay everything he does. But at the same time, he doesn’t flaunt his education, success and “macho” image as well. He’s someone who appreciates his struggles and learns from them, cares about his well-being and naturally shows that he cares and respects others as well. In short, he doesn’t bash everything and anything that comes his way. If a man respects himself, there’s an even greater chance that he respects you, what you do and your outlook in life. Tou can’t maintain a happy, long-term relationship with someone you don’t respect and/or who doesn’t respect you. Mutual respect demonstrates value and high regard.
He is truthful and has no trust issues. If you catch a whiff of dishonesty in the air, look out! A man’s need to lie is a telling clue about his character and emotional health. It may indicate serious insecurity, lack of integrity, or flimsy moral standards. And if deceit shows up while dating, it’s likely to get worse during marriage. But here’s the good news: a man who consistently tells the truth is a man who doesn’t have anything to hide. That kind of guy is a keeper.
Also, he knows trust is as fragile as crystal and he wouldn’t even think of breaking it. Truth-telling and trust go hand in hand, but trust is also bolstered in other ways. Does he follow through on what he says he’s going to do? Do his actions back up his words? When trust is broken, love is diminished and damaged. But when trust is diligently maintained, love grows stronger and stronger.
He puts you on top of his list. A guy is a good husband material if he simply puts you on top of his priorities. He’s determined who is number one in the relationship – and it isn’t him but you! His attitudes and actions send the message, “Because you’re so special to me, I want the very best for you.” A guy who supports your dreams, does his best to ease your burdens and goes out of his way to make you feel you’re loved and special would definitely make a good husband! On the other hand, if he’s always busy and has very little time for you, or when all the efforts to be together is something that only you would do, then he’s just not good enough for a lifetime partner. The man who has chosen to nurture and nourish his woman’s well-being is unselfish, and thus makes a great husband.
He loves his work. Regardless of what kind of job or career he has, his passion for it speaks for much more than what he earns. A man who loves his work is someone who wants the best things for all other things he love – like you and the kids you will have. His craft or skill is something that defines his attitude toward life and relationships. Be careful of a man who complains a lot about his job or career, but doesn’t even care enough to look for greener pastures. That’s a sure sign of a loser who will make your family miserable as well.
You could probably add to this list, identifying qualities you consider essential. But surely, if the four qualities above are present, that’s a solid starting point for determining if your man is marriage material.
